Job purpose:
Ensuring financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance across all agricultural activities. Supports the end-to-end financial management of farming operations, including inventory control, asset tracking, accounts payable and receivable, and lease contract oversight. Through detailed financial reporting, insightful analysis, and continuous process improvement, the Accountant enables informed decision-making and contributes to the strategic and commercial success of the Farming division.
Key Performance Areas
· Inventory Management: Accurate tracking, valuation, and reporting of farming consumables
· Accounts Payable: Manage supplier payments and ensure compliance
· Asset Management: Maintain fixed asset register and oversee lifecycle
· IFRS 16 Lease Management: Ensure compliance and accurate reporting
· Commodity Basis File: Prepare and maintain basis file
· Month-End Close & Reporting: Deliver accurate financial data and reconciliations
· Internal Controls & Compliance: Maintain strong governance and audit readiness
· Process Optimization & Automation: Drive efficiency through digital solutions
· Risk Management: Monitor and mitigate financial risks
Minimum criteria
· Matric senior certificate
· Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting
· SAICA/CIMA articles preferred
· Minimum 1 year experience in a commercial accounting role
· Intermediate MS Excel skills
· Fluent in Afrikaans and English

- Strong accounting and financial reporting expertise

- Background in the agriculture industry
Advantageous requirements
