Scope of the role:
The role of Commercial Manager of Bulgaria is to manage the company business activities in the commodity (grains and oilseeds) origination area exploring market opportunities locally, in the region and worldwide. The actions taken by this role will be solid integrated within Central Europe.
The holder of the role is a hard-working professional able to undertake trading and business decisions and work diligently under pressure. This person is comfortable with working in a developing environment, building up new connections with clients and identify effective ways to achieve better results.
Responsibilities:
- Transform and lead all commercial activities in the market by developing and sustaining commodity origination/purchases in Bulgaria
- Being responsible for the commercial PnL of the country, margins and open positions, in coordination with Regional team (Commercial, Finance)
- Identify expansion & growth opportunities, provide recommendations, SWOT of potential investments /projects and post-investment evaluations, including alternative scenarios towards management of Central Europe, strategic advice to management related to local activities and developments
- Develop company’s portfolio of agricultural partners
- Develop strong relations with most important suppliers/clients with regards to prices and tradeable volumes (sales/purchase contracts)
- Seek and gather specific information from the market, ensure accurate and regular reports about relevant commodities and competitors, crop development with support of research team for HQ
- Building the supply & demand to develop opportunities for both local and export markets to maximize origination potential and margins
- Take part in company projects, as per assigned role
- Coordinate with Finance & Controlling Dept for hedge FOREX and handle other market risks
- Timely reporting of operational issues that expose the company or its employees
- Manage the trading and execution teams directly reporting to him (recruitment, on-boarding, engagement, compensation, performance reviews, time & attendance, disciplinary actions etc.) in close cooperation with HR function, establish the annual goals of the company for the market together with the Board
- Consolidate team spirit and motivation to achieve together the set goals and objectives, by using all the tools available within the company (team-building, matrix cooperation in Bulgaria, functional collaboration at Central Europe level etc.)
- Review the activity of employees, to acquire understanding of the organization’s financial and non-financial position as well as performance
- General organization of the office responsibilities (internal organization of employee structure, procedures enforcement, daily activities planning, office management matters)
- Developing and maintaining process flows in order to have a proper functionality of the Budapest office
- Official representation of the company at local level (represents the company in front of suppliers, clients, other stakeholders)
- Adheres to COFCO values, guidelines, policies and procedures, as well as to internally developed policies and workflows; ensure compliance and implementation of COFCO Policies and procedures as per company guidelines
- Ensure adherence to the Group policies as well as local legal guidelines, to be respected by all employees
- Perform any other duties required by direct manager, senior management and situation, related to business needs if case, relevant to the position
Requirements:
- Strong expertise in trading or another relevant role
- Knowledge of agribusiness market
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in related field
- Ability to liaise with people and initiate relationship building
- People management expertise
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proven teamwork orientation towards the other departments in the company
- Analytical abilities and aptitude in problem-solving
- Attention to details
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Advanced English language
- Native Hungarian language
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Knowledge of integrated software (e.g. SHARP) is considered as an advantage
