Treasury & Trade Finance Senior Analyst

Job Purpose:

The Treasury & Trade Finance Analyst / Manager would be responsible to manage the Trade Finance Function for Trading Businesses in Singapore.  The position is part of the Regional Treasury Centre Team at Singapore and would work in very close co-ordination with Global Trade Finance Desk in Geneva. 

This role requires good technical  knowledge of trade finance, along with  communication skills, written and oral, to be able to address all aspects, directly or indirectly linked to the duties, with internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to Banks, in-House Traders and Operations teams in Asia.

The Trade Finance Analyst / Manager would also be responsible for managing various discounting programs in the region.


Key Responsibilities:

•    To provide appropriate technical and professional advice and efficient support to all business units with regards to all trade finance related matters
•    Manage the TF banking relationship  along with Treasury Team to source most competitive pricing for Trade Finance
•    To support the daily trade operational activities for all business units such as Letter of Credit (LC), confirmation, discounting of export bills, open account receivables, and monitor payment due date, etc
•    Source for confirming/negotiating banks for Export LC and liaise with banks/business units for the reservation of lines
•    Work closely with Business units to identify Opportunities to reduce working capital through Receivable discounting, Credit insurance, inventory financing structure.
•    Liaise closely with trade operators and banks on LC terms and all trade finance matters such as LC amendments, LC and LOI, etc
•    Working in coordination with Global Trade Finance Desk based in Geneva 
•    Ensure the validity of the discrepancies highlighted by banks
•    Management reporting for all trade finance activities through various systems
•    Provide backup role for cash management and treasury operations.


Requirements:

•    Master’s /  Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and/or Finance or Chartered Accountant 

•    Extensive understanding of the trade finance market 
•    Technical knowledge of  Trade Finance Instruments like LCs/ SBLCs/ BGs etc
•    5 to 10 years’ experience in a corporate treasury environment (Commodity Trading Company is a plus) or in similar role. 
•    Extensive knowledge of data management, for Treasury in particular, is required

•    Strong team player
•    Enthusiastic, dynamic personality with comfort in a complex multinational work environment
•    Able to work independently under tight deadlines and constraint
•    Strong analytical and problem solving skills
•    Ability to work in a semi-manual environment that requires enhancements
•    Possess highest standards of integrity and reliability
•    Fluent in English and Mandarin (written and oral), any additional languages considered as advantage.
