Job Purpose
The Operation Executive is responsible for all the operation activities of Vegoil physical and Paper Trades. The role includes the full execution of all aspects of contract execution and logistics in a fast-paced
environment, coordination with numerous functions and relevant parties to ensure smooth execution of shipment and turnaround of documents.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage daily end-to-end cargo operations, including vessel nomination, document instructions, loading and unloading arrangements, inspections, insurance, follow up on payments, negotiation of letters of credits and laytime finalization.
- Manage day to day logistics: liaising with ship-owners, agent and follow up on shipping matters.
- Ensure that applicable and adequate financial security of payment is in place and compliant with contractual terms (Prepayment, Letter of credit, CAD through bank…)
- Full execution of paper trade contracts, negotiate string, circle and washout.
- Problem solving ability to manage operational risks. Follow up claims.
- Communicate effectively with customers, ship-owners, surveyors, service providers, authorities, and more.
- Ensure smooth flow of information between various departments: Trading, Trade Assistant, Credit Risk, Treasury & Accounting Departments and other Cofco international offices.
- Ensure all operations are carried out in accordance with company standard operating procedures and policies.
- Maintain and update operational data in internal systems.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Education, Experience and Skills
- Fluent in both written and spoken English.
- Bachelor or Diploma in Shipping and logistic or business-related field
- Experience in a similar position for a minimum of 5 to 7 years in Vegoil and/or Palm Oil (or similar) operations and sound knowledge of above duties are essential.
- High sense of responsibility, attentiveness to details, proactive, excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Excellent knowledge of LCs/UCP rules and Standard forms of contracts (Fosfa and Poram)
- Knowledge of shipping practices i.e. CP terms and relation to sales & purchases contracts, shipping documents, laytime calculations, insurance.
