Contract Analyst

Job Summary

We are looking for a Senior Contract Executive with a minimum of 7 years’ experience in agricultural commodity trading to manage the issuance and administration of sales and purchases contracts for grains and oilseeds transactions.The role focuses on ensuring contractual accuracy, compliance with agreed commercial terms in accordance with international trade standards and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

•    Draft and issue contracts based on Trader ‘s trade confirmation and Trade capture.
•    Review and negotiate contractual terms with customers, traders and trade execution team while maintaining good relationship with counterparties and keeping a customer orientated mind-frame.
•    Manage contract amendments, addendums, novation and special clauses.
•    Monitor contract status from signature to final settlement.
•    Understand and apply the relevant industry trading terms such as GAFTA, FOSFA, PORAM etc…
•    Regular contact with legal department on matters such as Economic Sanctions and Anti-Boycott reports. 
•    Ensure compliance with internal policies, processes and trade regulations.
•    Identify contractual risks and escalate discrepancies to Traders when necessary.
•    Assist Trade execution team with all matters related to contract capture and confirmation. 
•    Maintain proper contract records and documentation in internal systems.

Key Results Areas/Measures of Performance

•    Timely delivery of contracts with minimum subsequent amendments / revisions.
•    Ensuring buyers & sellers deliver correct documentation.
•    Proper file keeping.
•    Identifying and solving issues.

Education,Experience and Skills 

•    Excellent understanding of commodity contract structures and trade terms.
•    Strong knowledge of Gafta and FOSFA standard forms.
•    100% fluent in both written and spoken English. 
•    Education to degree level.
