Junior Operation Officer

Currently we have a new opening for a dedicated Junior Operations Officer to join our team in Rotterdam. Position Overview
As a Junior Operations Officer, you will support the Operations team in ensuring the smooth execution of contracts and physical shipments. This includes coordinating barge logistics, managing administrative processes, and liaising with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. You will play a vital role in maintaining operational efficiency and ensuring compliance with contractual and legal obligations.

Key Responsibilities

• Arrange and coordinate barge logistics from the Port of Rotterdam to customers at inland destinations.
• Oversee the execution of trade contracts from start to finish, ensuring compliance with all terms and conditions.
• Maintain communication with contractual counterparts, freight forwarders, ship agents, and surveyors.
• Monitor and analyze budget vs. actual costs to optimize operational efficiency.
• Ensure accurate processing of documentation, laytime calculations, and related administrative tasks.
   

Requirements

• Fluent in Dutch and English (written and spoken). Knowledge of French or German is advantageous.
• Education: HBO (higher educational) level.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills, with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to think critically, foresee risks, and implement preventive measures.
• Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• A proactive and flexible approach, with a strong sense of teamwork.
