Trading Back-Office Trainee (Derivatives)

Job Purpose

• To acquire a solid understanding of derivatives products, trade lifecycles, and back‑office processes within a global trading environment;
• To develop autonomy in performing daily operational controls, reconciliations, and trade validations;
• To support continuous improvement initiatives;
• To gain hands‑on experience with BI tools (Qlik Sense), reconciliation tools, and core operational workflows.

Responsibilities

• Support daily trade reconciliation between multiple systems and broker statements;
• Monitor and investigate discrepancies in quantities, prices, and trade details;
• Interact with Front Office, local teams, and brokers to resolve operational issues;
• Contribute to preparing operational reports and documentation;
• Participate in testing new tools, process enhancements, and automation initiatives;
• Provide support on ad-hoc tasks within the Derivatives Back Office team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher qualifications in Finance/Economy/Management or related discipline;
• Fluent in English (mandatory);
• Comfortable with Microsoft Excel (filtering, sorting, pivot tables);
• Knowledge of Business Intelligence tools (preferably Qlik Sense) and/or SQL is highly valued;
• Good communication skills;
• Excellent time management;
• Control focused;
• Keen to question everything and understand the detail behind the numbers and/or process
