Data Privacy Intern (IEFP)

Job Purpose

 

The Data Privacy Intern will support the execution, maintenance, and continuous improvement of COFCO International's global Data Privacy Programme. Working closely with the Data Protection Officer (DPO), the intern will contribute to a wide range of privacy governance and compliance activities, including the maintenance of privacy records, support for risk assessments, data mapping initiatives, privacy programme reporting, and awareness activities.The role will assist in coordinating privacy-related processes across the organization, supporting the collection and analysis of information required for compliance activities, monitoring privacy workflows, and engaging with stakeholders across functions such as HR, IT, Legal, Security, and other business teams.

This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain practical and hands-on experience in data privacy within a global organization. The role offers exposure to international privacy requirements, privacy management processes, stakeholder engagement, and the implementation of data protection best practices, while supporting COFCO International's commitment to responsible and compliant processing of personal data.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Support the day-to-day administration and maintenance of the Global Data Privacy Programme;
  • Assist with the management and updating of privacy records, inventories, and documentation within privacy management systems and repositories;
  • Support data mapping activities by identifying business processes, systems, data flows, and relevant stakeholders;
  • Assist in the preparation and coordination of Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs), Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), and other privacy-related assessments;
  • Support vendor and third-party privacy assessment activities by collecting, organizing, and validating relevant information;
  • Support the review and tracking of Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) and other privacy-related contractual requirements;
  • Collect, organize, and maintain information required for privacy compliance, governance, and reporting activities;
  • Monitor and track privacy-related workflows, actions, requests, and remediation activities to support timely completion;
  • Contribute to the preparation of privacy reports, metrics, dashboards, and key performance indicators (KPIs);
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across different functions to gather information, follow up on outstanding actions, and support privacy initiatives;
  • Assist in the development of presentations, guidance materials, awareness campaigns, training content, and communications related to data privacy.

 

Requirements

 

  • Recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Law, Compliance, or a related field;
  • Strong interest in Data Privacy, Data Protection, Compliance, and Technology;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Curiosity, initiative, and willingness to learn in a dynamic and international environment;
  • Ability to work independently and manage assigned tasks effectively;
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to organize information accurately;
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Understanding of GDPR and data protection principles is considered a plus;
  • Familiarity with privacy management tools is considered an advantage but not required.
