Matrix Reporting:

The position will be part of the Commercial/ Trading team giving support in the  communication with product line managers, controlling team and corporate risk teams.

Job Purpose:

 

Give support to the merchandising manager in the execution at a system and reporting levels of Merchandising Manager obligations in areas such as trading and position of domestic crops, vessel imports flows, risk reports and Forex.

 

Support for all the product line manager in the hedging for future and Forex, support for the controlling team to review position is complete and accurate in the system, also will hedge futures and mantaine under the merchandising manager supervision any forex risk that the company has. The position will be located in Mexico City to have a better coordination with all the teams.

 

The position will be buying and selling low volume to specific costumers of import grain and domestic crops

 

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Daily review of future position and FX, to ensure an accurate and efficient daily P&L report.
  • Balance spread and future position to avoid risk that company doesn’t want to have.
  • Daily monitoring of system activity to keep the info accurate, identifying and requesting to the Commercial/trading team the change of any difference.
  • Support accounting area with domestic risk management as prices for MTM calculation, or to answer any clarification to tell in the directional position and VAR limit.
  • Monitoring economic, business and translation exposure, from the business day to day operations and for the long-term risks like VAT recovery.
  • Keep calculation and team informed about the spread between prices of different origins, to updated price matrix with sensitive analysis.
  • Build and keep updated a spreadsheet analysis of trade flows and potential impacts to update the Supply and Demand (S&D) analysis.
  • Accomplish budget for the position of Trading volume and Gross Margin.

  3. Improve trading risk metrics in Mexico.

Education, experience, skills:

 

Education and

Qualifications

 

 

  • Technical knowledge in VAR and price curves.
  • Technical, and shipping background desired, understanding of storage risk and good practices it’s desired.
  • Understanding of trading and Risk management concepts, in option trading, correlation analysis trade rules, risk management metrics ( VAR, price curves, P&L ratio, stress ), Forex trading
  • Bachelor in Risk, maths, international trade, actuary  or similar career,  master in risks is desired

 

 

Experience

 

 

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in commodities merchandising and /or trading
  • Knowledge and/or experience in Risk Management
  • Good understanding of financial risk and vocabulary.
  • Knowledge on hedging structure.
