Job Purpose
The trade assistant will effectively be the link between Front Office, Product Control and Operations with a specific focus on system trade capture, exposure and P&L maintenance, and liaising with all relevant parties to ensure a robust position and pricing in each trading desk and each trading flow.
Responsibilities
- Timely and Accurate trade capture in CTRM system (physical and derivatives)
- In charge of the daily follow up and maintenance of all positions (past and forward, including but not limited to MtM valuation and P&L Exposure)
- Assure proper internal communication between desks through (Front Office, Operations, Product Control Finance, Risk and Freight desks)
- Provide support to traders daily in the preparation and verification of position reporting (exposure and P&L).
- Responsible for daily maintenance of open positions (physical trade applications, paper trade allocations, wash out proposals, MtM curve rolling/modifications, market daily prices verification and upload)
- Concentrate pricing responsibility: daily coordination of pricing to be done (versus cash (EFP/OT), validity check of fixing orders, daily broker statement reconciliation and capture of executed orders
- Daily Derivatives reconciliation
- Meet requests for ad-hoc information
- Conduct vessel vetting in line with internal policies and compliance requirements
- Maintain and update counterparty master data, including onboarding of new counterparties
- Liaise with Credit risk teams to monitor and check counterparty credit limits and ensure compliance prior to trade deal
Requirements
- Bachelor degree or equivalent in Business administration, Supply Chain or International Trade (Import/export)
- 100% fluent in both written and spoken English
- Experience in commodity trading, preferably in soybeanmeal
- Experience of working in a global organization
- Outstanding numerical & analytical skills with a great attention to details
- Proactive and willing to find root cause if discrepancies arise.
- Able to liaise with multiple stakeholders and deal with various tasks simultaneously in an ever changing and challenging environment.
- Excellent communication skills and relationship management skills
- Strong team player, self-motivated and energetic with a drive to learn
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure trading environment
