Senior Technical Architect

JOB PURPOSE:
This role serves as the key technical  expert for projects, technical architecture, and new product evaluations. This position designs and provides expert level guidance across the enterprise IT technologies and software, assuring compliance with company policies, standards and procedures.

As an expert advisor to other areas of COFCO International global IS/IT organization, you will advise the organization with applicable industry information on IT technologies, trends and improvement opportunities. You will have an in-depth knowledge of IT best practices, principles, theories, and techniques for managing the activities related to systems & services. 
As a Senior Technical Architect, you will also collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to analyze business requirements, identify technical gaps, and propose innovative solutions. By understanding the unique needs of various stakeholders, you will ensure that the technical architecture aligns with business goals and supports scalability, security, and performance. Your ability to translate complex technical concepts into easily understandable language will be crucial in effectively communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Creation, maintenance and management of global IT design and their lower level components consistent with software, interfaces and infrastructure elements;
  • Maintain and govern IT Application technical strategy;
  • Establish and maintain an enterprise strategy for IT technologies to ensure consistency and secure data being transported within and outside COFCO International network boundaries;
  • Ensure adoption of standard IT  technologies as part project deployment and roadmap initiatives;
  • Research industry standards and best practices in IT technologies in order to advise other areas within IT;
  • Sign off on architectural designs and lead others in the delivery of solutions that meet IT technical standards and policies. Provide review and guidance to IS/IT project teams on appropriate IT related technologies;
  • Meet scheduled milestones to ensure project/program objectives are met in a timely manner;
  • Lead strategy formation for the global application portfolio, architecture, components, security, fit to emerging technologies and business requirements;
  • Actively participate in meetings related to the designated project/s, both locally and internationally, with clients, suppliers and/or partners;
  • Advise and recommend enterprise architecture strategies, processes and methodologies. Share best practices, lessons learned and constantly update the technical system requirements based on changing technologies, and knowledge related to recent, current and upcoming vendor products and solutions;
  • Collaborate with all relevant parties in order to review the objectives and constraints of each solution and determine conformance with the enterprise technical architecture;
  • Identify and recommend areas appropriate for further study and participates in any Proof of Concept projects required to thoroughly investigate architectural possibilities and strengthen arguments for their adoption;
  • Identify implementation risks and analyses potential impact on the enterprise;
  • Recommend and participate in the design and implementation of standards, tools and methodologies;
  • Participate in the design and implementation of service management standards, tools and methodologies;
  • Participate in the review of IT technical components of supplier RFI and RFQ responses; review supplier SOW and responses to submit quotes;
  • Perform peer reviews of IT technical specifications with development, data teams and global IT;
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their objectives and requirements, and translate them into technical solutions and architectural designs that align with the overall IT strategy and enterprise technical architecture;
  • Stay abreast of advancements in cloud technologies and assess their applicability to the organization's IT landscape. Design and recommend cloud provider-independent solutions that leverage industry standards and open architectures, enabling seamless migration and portability across different cloud platforms.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Masters Degree in IT or relevant engineering recommended;
  • 10+ years’ experience working with IT technical architecture roles;
  • 10+ years’ experience working in an IT software projects in a Global company;
  • Experience of industry standard Architectural Methodologies and Frameworks such as TOGAF or ITIL;
  • Extensive experience in designing and implementing enterprise-level technical architectures for complex IT systems and solutions, including utilization of Azure services such as Azure Virtual Machines, Azure App Service, Azure SQL Database, Azure Functions, and Azure Storage;
  • Proven track record in providing expert-level guidance and thought leadership in the evaluation and selection of IT technologies, software, and infrastructure components, including knowledge of Huawei cloud products such as Huawei Elastic Compute Service (ECS), Huawei Object Storage Service (OBS), Huawei Database Services, and Huawei Cloud Functions;
  • Experience in advising and influencing stakeholders on IT technology strategies, improvements, and innovation opportunities, leveraging the benefits and features of Azure and Huawei cloud products for optimized and cost-effective solutions;
  • Experience in reviewing and approving architectural designs, ensuring compliance with technical standards, policies, and procedures, while considering the specific capabilities and limitations of Azure, Huawei or AWS cloud products;
  • Proven ability to contribute to the development and implementation of IT standards, tools, and methodologies, taking into account the specific features and integrations of cloud providers products;
  • Strong Functional Knowledge of IT systems (ERPs, Procurement, Treasury, etc).
