Job Purpose: 

A specialist in the preparation of financial analyses of accounting sub-ledger activity. Manage and oversee assigned portions of the general ledger (Intercompany). Responsible for preparing end of month Intercompany reconciliations and reporting ensuring key controls are performed and effectively maintained.

Responsibilities:

Month end & reporting:

  • Intercompany reconciliation Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Purchase, Sales, Loan, Interests and Mark to Market process during month-end close. Using Qlik Sense, SAP, EKA Trading System, Excel and any other data sources provided.
  • Manage and process intercompany recharges.
  • Prepare and submit monthly intercompany payments.
  • Perform ageing analyses and monitor payment collections for non‑trade intercompany transactions.
  • Monitor and control the clearing of intercompany accounts.
  • Communicate with group companies and business controllers to provide information on discrepancies between counterparties.
  • Liaise with other departments to ensure all data is accurately recorded and accounting for before EOM (End of Month).
  • Support EOM activities, including preparation of journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Responsible for reporting IC figures in company reporting tool BPC and complying with company deadlines.
  • Assist in preparing financial reports and provide variance analysis and commentary on intercompany balances.
  • Quarterly reconciliation of balances and transactions with Related Parties.
  • Monthly follow up on unresolved items and escalate when applicable.

Systems & improvements:

  • Check system interfaces and validate accounting mappings.
  • Contribute to process improvement and automation initiatives within the Finance SSC.

Compliance & controls:

  • Follow designated process and procedures as per Intercompany Policy. Ensure intercompany agreements are valid when applicable.
  • Work with Corporate Controller in EOM accounts reconciliation to ensure BS integrity, provide support and validate balances of specific sub ledgers accounts.
  • Assist in the preparation of information for annual reporting, external and internal audits.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Be proficient in Excel to an advanced level or other BI tool.
  • Proficient in English
  • Strong experience in SAP (preferred)

Experience:

  • Work experience for 3 - 5 years in Finance.
  • Previous experience in CIL accounting departments (preferred)

Skills:

  • Solid analytical skills
  • Good written and oral communication skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting deadlines.
  • Customer service oriented.
