Senior Financial Analyst

The Senior Financial Analyst will be a key partner to the Finance Manager and Business Controllers, ensuring seamless financial information flow and delivering accurate and timely data to the management.  This role is pivotal in maintaining the accuracy and compliance of IFRS reporting, adhering to updates and deadlines set by the Group Consolidation and Reporting team. Additionally, the position requires proactive monitoring of open positions and close collaboration with the Operations team. Will be responsible for following up the open positions and liaising with the Operations team operating in a diverse business environment and will have the opportunity to work with different IT systems including SAP, BPC and IMOS and to perform complex analysis via systems and Eexcel.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Key person to communicate with the Group Consolidation and Reporting team to make sure that IFRS books are complete and disclosed timely in BPC
  • Communicate with traders and operations team for the open positions to prepare the aging and bad debt report
  • Investigate with operators the daily voyage P&L variances of voyages & those against the trader estimate to ensure accurate reporting
  • Perform reconciliations of the accounting system versus the trading system and collaborate with the operators to close the completed voyages 
  • Be the main point of contact for BPC and SAP IT teams to implement system amendments and  improvements
  • Liasie with the legal team to provide the required information before disclosing Risk Reports
  • Coordinate with Junior Financial Analyst(s) and liasie with the Finance Manager to perfom  month-end closing and ensure it is reported timely and in an accurate manner (ledger entries booking, balance sheet integrity control, monthly schedules, etc)
  • Perform payment approvals
  • Participate in various projects such as New Legal Entity Establishment(s) in regards to all relevant IT systems (SAP, IMOS, Kyriba) and enhancement projects 
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors

 

Education, experience, skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance
  • 3-5 years of experience in accounting, controlling, or auditing within the trading industry, preferably in a multinational corporation or audit firm
  • Advanced proficiency in English and Turkish (both written and spoken)
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on contractual language
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Highly organized and motivated
  • Knowledge of or strong interest in physical trading
  • Ability to think outside the box with a “can-do” attitude
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • IMOS / SAP / SAP BPC knowledge is a plus
