Freight Operations Executive

Responsibilities

 

  • Operate and be responsible for the end-to-end management and risk of operated vessels;
  • Communicate and liaise with vessel owners/masters/charterers, trading team, and other relevant stakeholders;
  • Responsible for following up on post-fixture activities / negotiating/settling claims / outstanding;
  • Stowage Plan optimization, Hold Cleaning, and Technical Knowledge;
  • Bunkering Optimization ensures close collaboration with the bunker desk to manage bunker planning successfully;
  • Monitor, Manage, and optimize vessel performance with assistance from 3rd party Routing providers;
  • Managing Voyage Profit & Loss, understanding variances;
  • Advanced comprehension of charter party contracts of assigned trade routes;
  • Understanding of Legal risks, Bills of Lading, LOIs;
  • Post-voyage analysis and review;
  • Manage assigned external relations with customers and vendors;
  • Ensure and champion a close and harmonious working relationship with the relevant Commercial team;
  • Collaborate effectively with other Freight Platform desks.

 

Requirements

 

  • Bachelor in Maritime studies or related area;
  • Minimum 2-5 years as Operator of Time Charter dry bulk vessel;
  • Fluent in English (both written & spoken);
  • Significant and demonstrated customer or supplier relationship skills;
  • Macroeconomics including trade flows;
  • Proficient in the use of technology particularly Excel, Word, and Shipping systems;
  • Accountability and a strong sense of ownership, team play, and collaboration;
  • Enjoys working to tight time constraints;
  • Negotiating skills;
  • Analytical skills;
  • High level of commitment to Compliance aspects and work ethics.
