COFCO International is seeking a highly skilled and experienced .Net Developer to join our team. You will be a part of a new department with a primary objective of gradually developing the main agriculture trading management application in Central Europe. Your objective is to be the main developing contact for a tier two application while also refactoring this software on Azure based solutions (monolithic and service-oriented applications), targeting key Agribusiness areas such as Silo Stock Management, Contract Management, Treasury and Finance. You’ll own and be accountable for the sprints content and execution speed (full DevOps integration).You will interact with Business Analysts and Project Managers and other (Senior) Developers to understand application specifications. You will not compromise on quality and will make sure unit/integration/performance tests are well implemented. You’ll leverage your strong SQL skills to apply best SQL design practices, to optimize existing queries, and create new ones aligned towards your performance metrics. Finally, you will be able to rely on our Infrastructure team, our L1 and L2 teams to support your activities, and establish flawless communication with them (change management, incident management, problem management).

The ideal candidate should familiarize himself quickly with the business and gradually take ownership of the development tasks and establish a robust in-house Dev department. In the future you should understand most operational activities and serve as the first point of contact for all development matters for the application in question. This role requires a committed individual who is eager to work on a lengthy project, with the possibility of expanding this knowledge to a future global team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Regular:

• Familiarize with the agriculture business and particularities of the day-to-day operations.
• Design, develop, and maintain a C# tier two application using Microsoft WinForms (DevExpress).
• Write and optimize SQL queries.
• Work closely with the operation teams, business analyst, to understand the business requirements and ensure timely delivery of quality software.
• Troubleshoot and debug application issues in a prompt manner.
• Develop and maintain documentation related to software design, coding, and testing.
• Continuously improve technical skills and stay up to date with our Global technologies and proposed development techniques.
• Maintenance and enhancements on the azure CI/CD pipelines

Application Support & Operations:

• Code maintenance and reduction of recurrent issues.
• Involvement and implementation of global IT initiatives, inside CE Region.
• Constant liaison with global IT development functions.

General/Compliance:

• Performs any other duties as instructed by direct manager or senior management, relevant to the position.
• Adheres to COFCO values, guidelines and procedures, as well as to internally developed policies and workflows.

 Main deliverables:

• Understand the current application architecture.
• Familiarize yourself with the business and the key operational aspects of agribusiness.
• Refactor a two-tier Windows .NET application as a part of a migration to Azure (CI/CD / DevOps).
• Create documentation for existing code.
• Ensure 3rd Level support to end users by email (exceptionally by phone).  

REQUIREMENTS:

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS, or equivalent with programming experience.
• At least 3 years of development experience with .NET technologies (ASP .NET, MVC, DevExpress, entity framework).
• Proven Skills with C#, SQL, JavaScript/DHTML, HTML-CSS, AJAX, jQuery, Web Services. Ability to complete all phases of software development life cycle including analysis, design, functionality, testing and support.
• Database design and development – performance tuning.
• Experience with Web Services, WCF, REST and Service Oriented Architecture.
• Experience with concurrent development source control.
• Experience with git versioning and Azure DevOps.
• Experience in developing DevOps pipelines is a plus.
• Knowledge of Azure Cloud platform.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming concepts and design patterns.
• Any experience with working with tier two applications would be a plus.
• Expertise in SQL and database design and optimization.
• English fluent speaker; Romanian native.

• Experience with the DevExpress framework is highly desirable, but not obligatory.

Working Environment:

• Flexible working hours depending on business needs.
