Scope of the role:
The role of Trader is to support the organization and to run the implementation of commercial strategy & operations of the company for the specific products / flows. He/she will develop market position of company and establish strong collaboration relationship with farmers and distributors and also with partners. The actions taken by this role will be solid integrated within CE region on line products (grains and oilseeds, any other new product assigned by direct manager).
The holder of the role is a hard-working professional able to undertake trading decisions and work diligently under pressure. This person is comfortable with working in a developing environment, building up new connections with clients and identify effective ways to achieve better results.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and sustain commodity origination/purchases/flows in specific area within Central Europe market;
- Collaborate with line product traders in CE;
- Handle purchases of Grains and Oilseeds and manage the flow towards Constanta Port as well as other destinations (eg. Western Europe);
- Keep close communication with farmers with regards to prices and tradeable volumes;
- Seek and gather specific information from the market, ensure accurate and regular reports about relevant commodity markets and competitors, crop development;
- Run pricing, cost calculations for inland purchases, in coordination with Logistics Dept;
- Develop strong relations with suppliers/clients, negotiate and conclude the deal (sale/purchase contract)
- Develop company’s portfolio of agricultural partners;
- Prospect and recommend storage space opportunities;
- Align logistic needs together with Logistics Dept and Trade Execution Dept;
- Coordinate with Finance & Controlling Dept for hedge FOREX and handle other market risks
- Responsible for P&L generated by own trades/product/commercial flow, calculate daily margins and open positions;
- Support Trade managers in building the supply & demand to develop opportunities for both local and export markets to maximize origination potential and margins;
- Adheres to COFCO values, guidelines and procedures, as well as to internally developed policies and workflows; ensure compliance and implementation of COFCO Policies and procedures as per company guidelines
- Perform any other duties required by direct manager, senior management and situation, related to business needs if case, relevant to the position
Requirements:
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in related field
- Prior experience as a trader or another relevant role
- Knowledge of agribusiness market
- Ability to liaise with people and initiate relationship building
- People management expertise
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proven teamwork orientation towards the other departments in the company
- Analytical abilities and aptitude in problem-solving
- Attention to detail
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- English language at working level
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Knowledge of integrated software (e.g. SHARP) is considered as an advantage

- internally: with the other members of Trade team, Contract Admin team, Execution team, Logistics team, Finance & Controlling team; colleagues from Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria, Serbia and HQ
- externally: company’s business partners (suppliers and clients)
