Field Trader for Ialomita county

Scope of the role:

The role of Field Trader is to support the organization and to run the implementation of commercial strategy & operations of the company in the Romanian market/in Ialomita county. He/she will develop market position of company and establish strong collaboration relationship with farmers and distributors in Romania. The actions taken by this role will be solidly integrated within CE region.

The ideal candidate will be a hard-working professional able to undertake trading decisions and work diligently under pressure. This person will be comfortable with working in a developing environment, building new connections with clients and identifying effective ways to achieve better results.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and implement commercial strategy in the designated area (Ialomita county) according to the directions/volume budgets set by the trading department
  • Origination responsible for fulfilling designated volumes in Bordusani silo
  • Develop and sustain regional commodity origination/purchases in specific area
  • Ensuring accurate and regular reports about relevant commodity markets and competitors, crop development
  • Running pricing, cost calculations
  • Manage and develop the company’s portfolio of suppliers/customers in specific area
  • Look for storage space opportunities in specific area
  • Anticipate, communicate and align logistic needs in the area together with logistic and execution department
  • Offer support for execution and logistic colleagues in all stages of contract execution
  • Contribute to local company Business Plan, in terms of conception and execution.
  • Support company business activities, identify and follow development opportunities for the company in the area
  • Ensure compliance and implementation of COFCO Policies and procedures as per company guidelines
  • Perform any other duties required by manager and situation, related to business needs if case

 

Requirements:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Prior experience as a field trader or another relevant role
  • Knowledge of agribusiness market
  • Ability to liaise with people and initiate relationship building
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven teamwork orientation towards the other departments in the company
  • Analytical abilities and aptitude in problem-solving
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • English language at working level
  • Proficiency in MS Office

 

Building relationships (internally- externally)  

  • internally: with the other members of the Trade team, Contract Admin team, Execution team, Logistics team, Finance & Controlling team
  • externally: company’s business partners (suppliers or clients in case of input business)
