Crop Analyst

Scope of the role:

The role of Crop Analyst is to support the organization and to organise and conduct regional crop tours during both the planting and harvest campaigns for specific products. The actions taken by this role will be solid integrated within Europe on line products (winter wheat, winter rapeseed, sunflower, corn and any other new product assigned by direct manager). The role will be colaborating with the agronomy teams’ peers in the US, South Africa, South America.

The holder of the role is a hard-working professional able to work diligently under pressure. This person is comfortable with working in a developing environment and identifies effective ways to achieve better results.

Responsibilities:

  • Organize and conduct regional crop tours during both the planting and harvest campaigns.
  • The main commodities to focus on are:
  • Winter wheat,
  • Winter rapeseed,
  • Sunflower seed,
  • Corn
  • Coordinate with other regional teams with regards to methodology best practice.
  • Communicate results to relevant stakeholders in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Provide recommendations with regards to planted/ harvested acreage and yield potential
  • Make research, analyze and report on different trends, draw insights that can be used to create actionable strategies
  • Work with different types of datasets, and create and deliver relevant reports

 

 

  • Identify and apply latest technologies in the daily activity for providing most accurate and in time input to colleagues
  • Maintain trusting relationships with suppliers, customers, and colleagues
  • Perform any other duties required by manager and situation, related to business needs
  • Ensure the compliance with the regulations in Romania as well as Group policies and procedures
  • Adheres to COFCO values, guidelines and procedures, as well as to internally developed policies and workflows ensuring compliance with COFCO established policies & procedures

 

 

Requirements:

  • Background in agronomy
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Prior experience in the industry and on the role (minimum 5 years)
  • English advanced speaking
  • Native Romanian
  • Any other European language in the area is an advantage
  • Valid drivers license/ preparedness to travel across Europe
  • Ability to liaise with people and initiate relationship building
  • Proven teamwork orientation towards the other departments in the company
  • Analytical abilities and aptitude in problem-solving
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office (especially excel)
