Country Controller, Hungary

The role of Country Controller is to ensure the compliance with the statutory regulations in Hungary and Group policies and procedures, in coordination with direct and indirect reports, and to support management team with relevant business analysis. The actions taken by this role will be solid integrated within CE region.

The ideal candidate will be a hard-working professional able to undertake necessary decisions and work diligently under pressure. This person will be comfortable with working in a developing environment, implementing all applicable policies and procedures and identify effective ways to achieve better results.


Responsibilities

  • Ensure the compliance with the statutory regulations in Hungary and Group policies and procedures, in coordination with direct and indirect reports.
  • Supervise of following functions: Risk & Business Controlling, Finance/Banking, Group Reporting, Tax, General Accounting, Internal Control.
  • Support management decisions, by delivering relevant business analysis.
  • Validate the Group reporting packages (monthly, quarterly, tax schedules).
  • Prepare/supervise all statutory reports as per IFRS rules (VAT statements, taxes, annual financial package, etc.).
  • Supervise the Finance/Banking activities (banks relations, currency exposure, cash flows, payments, etc.).
  • Own the financial results (monthly P&L per product, trading margins, operating costs) and provide insightful explanations mirroring the commercial activity.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process and assume full responsibility over reporting and follow-up versus monthly results.
  • Develop forecasting/analysis forms and follow-up process.
  • Ensure proper administration of the systems (front-end and accounting platforms).
  • Build tools to monitor the performance of the business (logistics, trading margins, actual vs estimates).
  • Management over Controlling periodic activities (payments validation, accruals and provisions sign-off, mark-to-market valuation, appropriate provisions).
  • Assist local and regional management in delivering presentations on company performance.
  • Lead the ERP implementations related to Financial environment.
  • Maintain the internal control framework for the company.
  • Support regional controller with specific business information (trading position, pricing, market exposure).
  • Support all other functions within the company.
  • Ensure compliance and implementation of COFCO Policies and procedures as per company guidelines.
  • Perform any other duties required by manager and situation, related to business needs if case.

 

Building Relationships

  • Internally: 
    • with the other members of local organization (Trade team, Execution team).
    • with the other members of Finance & Controlling team in Central Europe or Group (European and/or Global and Headquarters).
    • manage Finance & Controlling team in Hungary (direct and indirect reports).
  • Externally: company’s business partners (suppliers and clients)

 

Requirements

  • Education in Accounting/Financial area or related studies.
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in Controlling in a multi-national company.
  • ACCA or another similar certification is a plus.
  • Previous experience with ERP implementation is a plus.
  • Previous experience or knowledge of trading industry is a plus.
  • Very good MS Office knowledge.
  • Proficient English speaker.
  • Diplomatic person, socially smart.
  • Good communication and people management skills.
  • Good high-level business understanding as well as accurate micro-analysis abilities.

 

Position based in Bucharest office, full-time working in the office.
