Senior Internal Auditor - APAC & China

Responsibilities:

This individual will be detail-oriented, demonstrate a high level of professionalism and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Other responsibilities include:

1. Effectively conduct periodic audits of operational and financial areas in accordance with approved Annual Audit Plan.

2. Help determine whether the Company’s risk management systems, control and governance processes are adequate and functioning in manner commensurate with size of the company’s operations.

3. Exercise excellent judgment and initiative in handling business issues of significance to Internal Audit and the company.

4. Draft working papers, document work performed, written communications of audit and consulting engagement results.

5. Discharges responsibilities in a manner consistent with The Institute of Internal Auditors’ Global Internal Audit Standards.

6. Engage to continuous knowledge development regarding agriculture and trading business related accounting standards, regulations, best practices, tools, etc.

Education, experience, skills:

• Master’s or bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in accounting, auditing, finance or business administration

• Advanced certification, i.e., CPA,CIA, ACCA is strongly preferred

• Knowledge and understanding of internal control and risk framework, accounting standards and procedures, tax rules, laws and regulations

• 6-7 years of internal or external audit experience

• External audit (e.g., Big 4) and / or internal audit (e.g., Fortune 500) experience is highly desirable

• Internal Audit experience in Global trading company is preferred

• Experience of working across geographies will be preferred

• Excellent knowledge of IFRS standards and rules, accounting updates, and ability to carry out a full cycle of financial statements integrity review

• Ability to understand different operating businesses and dynamic trading environments

• Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, innovative approach to work

• Excellent project management and communication (both verbal and written) skills, including the ability to effectively and confidentially interact with CIL’s senior management

• Strong analytical skills and excellent business acumen (e.g., knowledge of business drivers, finding solutions and knowledge of accounting, finance and other business areas)

• A team player who can work independently

• Self-motivated and energetic

• Ability to travel internationally

• Language skills: Proficient in English and Mandarin required

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point (preferred: SAP)
