AI Technical Architect

JOB PURPOSE:

AI Architect – this role provides hands-on technical leadership for the design, delivery and continuous improvement of Artificial Intelligence solutions across COFCO International. The position guides AI Program and other teams in selecting appropriate AI technologies, defining solution architectures and implementing secure, scalable, maintainable and cost-conscious solutions in accordance with company policies, standards and procedures.

As a technical architect within the COFCO International Global IT organization, the AI Architect evaluates relevant AI technologies and trends, defines practical technical patterns and supports feasibility assessments, proofs of concept and production delivery. The role is focused on AI Architecture and AI solution delivery. It is positioned at Team Leader level and does not own Enterprise Architecture or the broader enterprise technology strategy not related to AI.

The AI Architect collaborates with Business Analysts, AI Engineers and Developers, Data Engineers, Integration and SAP teams, Security and Privacy, project managers, suppliers and business stakeholders. By translating business requirements into practical AI-enabled solutions, the role supports delivery quality, reuse, governance compliance and measurable business outcomes.

RESPONSABILITIES:

• Designing and maintaining AI solution architectures and their lower-level components, including applications, data, models, prompts, agents, APIs, integrations, security, deployment, monitoring and support elements.
• Define and maintain practical AI architecture patterns, technical standards and reusable components for Generative AI, AI Agents, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), document intelligence, enterprise search, conversational AI and intelligent automation solutions, as well as AI platforms like (but not only) n8n, Ollama, Azure AI Foundry, etc.
• Provide hands-on technical coaching and day-to-day guidance to AI Developers and other technical contributors in order to achieve what is in COFCO guidelines and best-practices.
• Coordinate technical activities across AI initiatives and support teams in resolving design, integration, implementation and production issues.
• Assess business and technical requirements, identify gaps and translate them into secure, scalable, maintainable and supportable AI solution designs.
• Ensure adoption of approved AI technologies, models, frameworks, data sources and integration patterns as part of project delivery and roadmap initiatives.
• Review solution designs, code approaches, prompts, agent configurations, APIs, data flows and deployment patterns, providing actionable guidance to delivery teams.
• Lead or support technical feasibility studies and Proof of Concept initiatives required to evaluate AI opportunities and implementation options.
• Evaluate AI technologies, models, frameworks and platform services, documenting benefits, limitations, risks, security considerations, integration impacts and expected operating costs.
• Apply COFCO International requirements for AI governance, information security, privacy, data protection, software engineering and responsible AI.
• Contribute with technical input to IT Governance reviews, security assessments, privacy assessments and architecture reviews.
• Identify implementation risks, assess potential impacts and recommend appropriate technical mitigations.
• Support planning, estimation, prioritization and delivery milestones in collaboration with project management, business analysis and development teams.
• Actively participate in meetings related to assigned initiatives, locally and internationally, with internal stakeholders, clients, suppliers and partners.
• Review relevant technical content in supplier RFI/RFQ responses, statements of work, quotations and solution specifications.
• Support testing, production readiness, monitoring, incident analysis and continuous improvement of deployed AI solutions.
• Promote reuse, standardization, documentation and knowledge sharing across the AI delivery portfolio.
• Stay abreast of relevant AI advancements and assess their applicability within COFCO International’s approved technology landscape.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• Relevant Microsoft Azure or Artificial Intelligence certifications are recommended.
• 5+ years of experience in software development, integration, solution architecture or technical leadership roles.
• Practical experience designing and delivering AI-enabled or data-driven solutions.
• Experience working with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft AI technologies.
• Experience integrating cloud solutions with business applications, APIs, data platforms and enterprise systems.
• Experience guiding developers or coordinating technical delivery within cross-functional teams.
• Experience working in complex global IT environments and multicultural teams is recommended.
• Fluent in English (mandatory).
