Job Purpose and Responsibilities
To run the Global S&D and Trade Consolidation data. Monitor and analyze import/export and global balance sheet data. Monitor the crop situation on a regional level, visiting farmers and benchmarking our numbers against the industry. Price and perform studies that could provide the team with further insight about the cotton fundamentals trend and its impact on ICE.
Ability to code to construct cross commodity fundamentals analysis
Education, Experience and Skills
Education and Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Agricultural Studies or Economics (Master’s preferred)
Experience: 0-1 year of experience as Commodities Research Analyst (preferably Cotton)
Skills: Expertise in dynamics of commodities production, trade flows and stocks in the US
Coding ability: Python or R, in addition to VBA
· Combine fundamental analysis and economic models to forecast ICE prices
· Estimate the US crop size and quality on a regional level and compare that with other market estimates, as well as perform crop tour to better support insights
· Maintain US Cost of Production values to gain insight on acreage and relevant ICE levels where acreage switches might occur
· Forecast trade flows based on relative cross origination values
· Work within a global team to manage the world S&D and help identify trading opportunities
· Consolidate the information from regional research offices (Brazil/India/China)
· Coordinate with the Regional Research Team
· construct price models using Python to predict fundamental direction on both ICE and ZCE
